This year’s parade celebrates Hometown Christmas Stroll: A Season to Gather the traditions, people, places, and moments that bring us together during the Christmas season.

Parade entries are required to incorporate the 2026 theme into their float, vehicle, costumes, music, or performance. We encourage you to think classic hometown Christmas warm, welcoming, nostalgic,

festive, and full of community spirit.

Bring the Theme to Life

Need a little inspiration? Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Christmas at Home: Decorate around a cozy front porch, fireplace, Christmas tree, family dinner table, or gathering of friends and family.
  • Hometown for the Holidays: Celebrate Georgetown with recognizable hometown touches, historic charm, local landmarks, storefronts, or a small-town Christmas scene.
  • Christmas Through the Years: Bring back the traditions of Christmas past with vintage toys, old-fashioned decorations, classic cars, retro Christmas attire, or favorite traditions from another generation.
  • Home for Christmas: Celebrate the joy of coming home and reconnecting with family and friends for the holidays.
  • A Texas Hometown Christmas: Give Christmas a Texas twist with boots, hats, ranches, pickup trucks, barns, stars, and plenty of holiday cheer.
  • Gather Around the Christmas Tree: Create a float centered around decorating the tree, exchanging gifts, singing carols, or sharing favorite family traditions.
  • Christmas on Main Street: Re-create the warmth of a hometown downtown with decorated storefronts, lamp posts, wreaths, garlands, and neighbors celebrating together.
  • Sounds of the Season: Bring Christmas to life through carolers, musicians, dancers, marching groups, or a favorite classic Christmas song.
  • Christmas Traditions: Showcase traditions such as baking cookies, hanging stockings, wrapping presents, Christmas morning, holiday dinners, or traveling to see family.
  • Kids Home for Christmas: Let children take the lead with pajamas, toys, letters to Santa, Christmas morning, gingerbread houses, or favorite childhood traditions.
  • Community Comes Together: Celebrate neighbors, first responders, schools, businesses, service organizations, and the people who make a hometown feel like home.

Make It Your Own

We want each entry to creatively interpret A Season to Gather while contributing to the warm, classic hometown

Christmas experience of the parade. Lights, music, movement, costumes, decorated vehicles, props,

and interactive elements are encouraged.

Most importantly: tell us your Christmas story. Show us what brings your family, business, school, organization, or

community together during the season.

Theme Requirement

All parade entries must clearly reflect the 2026 Hometown Christmas Stroll: A Season to Gather theme. Entries that do not demonstrate a connection to the theme may be asked to revise their concept prior to final approval.

Gather. Celebrate. Make memories. And help us bring a Hometown Christmas to life in the heart of Georgetown, Texas!
